E.J Singler Bolsters Bullets

The Brisbane Bullets have added import swingman E.J. Singler to bolster the 2019-20 roster, Singler joins the Bullets on a one-year agreement on the back of a stellar season with Hawkes Bay in the NZNBL.

The brother of former NBA player Kyle Singler, E.J. has experience across the globe including stops in Estonia, Greece, Germany and his latest destination in New Zealand where he was a named in the NZNBL All Star 5 after averaging 20 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3 assists for the season while shooting at 55% from the field and an incredible 43% from 3 point range to be one of the top marksmen in the league.

Singler will bring a championship pedigree to the Bullets roster in #NBL20 having enjoyed success in the NBA G-League with the Toronto Raptors affiliate team, boasting a career 40% clip from the 3 point line in the G-League with Idaho and the Raptors 905.

Singler’s NBA experience extends to Summer League stops with Detroit and Toronto as well as pre-season games with the Toronto Raptors and Portland Trailblazers.

Bullets General Manager, Basketball – Richard Clarke shared his excitement in the addition of a player of Singler’s quality to the roster, citing his cultural fit and recommendations from current Bullets as a key aspect of his recruitment.

“E.J. has been on our radar from his performances in the NZ NBL, with Cam Gliddon and Mika Vukona both telling us we should be looking at him closely after playing against him. The more feedback we got on him the more impressed we were – everyone talks about how hard he plays, and what a great team mate he is.”

“We were looking for someone who could add something different to the group, who would compete at practice every day and help make us better. E.J.’s mix of defence and scoring does that and gives us a lot of flexibility and versatility with the roster, he will be a great addition to the group.” Clarke shared.

Singler will join the Bullets squad for pre-season training in August. The Bullets now just have one roster position to fill for the 2019-20 season and will target a third import to fill this role.
