The Adelaide 36ers have split their preseason two-game series with the Philippines, as Joey Wright’s men continue preparations for NBL20.
Adelaide dropped the first contest to the Philippines 92-83 on Friday night, before bouncing back on Sunday night to take home a 85-75 victory.
A big second half paved the foundations for victory in game one for the Philippines, as they outscored the 36ers 42-34 across the third and fourth periods.
Ramone Moore led the way for Adelaide in game one, scoring 16 points on a highly efficient seven-of-nine shooting performance. Fresh off his chase for an NBA contract in the offseason, Harry Froling amassed 11 points and seven rebounds, while Brendan Teys and Daniel Dillon both hit double digits with 10 points.
Former NBA player Andray Blatche almost recorded a triple-double in game one with 19 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists.
In the second game of the series, Adelaide exploded out of the blocks with a 29-13 opening quarter and never looked back, as they ran away 10-point winners.
All-NBL Second Team member Daniel Johnson was a dominant force for the Sixers with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. New import signing Eric Griffin impressed with 15 points on five-of-seven shooting along with five rebounds, while Jack McVeigh scored 12 points, Teys again added 10 and new point guard Deshon Taylor recorded 10.
Blatche again was the Philippines’ best with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.
